Pangkor Island: An idyllic and beautiful island

Have you ever imagined yourself holding hands with your loved ones, walking by the beach and feeling the chilled breeze? Or spending some time with your crazy bunch of friends at the beach?

Maybe, a beach like this?

What a beautiful beach, isn't it?

That's Maldives if you guys wonder. It's beautiful, ain't it? Well, you don't need to go that far to enjoy scenic places like Maldives because partly it is costly. We are sure that everyone wants to enjoy and not to be worry about the cost, right?

You're in the right place! We are here to introduce you to a very popular island resort in Perak, Pangkor Island. Pangkor Island welcome all its visitors with its serene, golden beaches, crystalline blue water and cool refreshing breezes. Pangkor Island is one of the best choice we will suggest because it is reasonable in terms of cost and you'll get mostly everything from the clear blue sky, shallow visible sea, thick floras and fun water activities!

This is Pangkor Island, does this give you that feeling you feel while you're looking at the picture above?  :)

How to get to Pangkor Island from Kampar or Ipoh? We have a solution for you!

Google Map from Kampar to Lumut.

Use the road that link you to Kellie's Castle. From there, just head straight and follow the signboard stating 'Lumut' all the way. And there you are! You will eventually see a jetty and the beautiful view of the sea!

Before we could leave our footprints in Pangkor Island, we have to stop in Lumut to board the ferry that brings us straight to Pangkor Island. The approximate time taken to reach Lumut from Kampar is around 2 hours depending how fast you drive on the road.

The tickets for the ferry only will cost you RM10 per person for "to-and-fro"! I repeat, it only cost us RM10! RM10! RM10! The ferries are available almost every half an hour and it's very often. Don't be afraid that you'll miss the ferry! But, the last ferry for the day is at 8:00PM or 9:00PM if we are not mistaken.

At the Lumut Jetty waiting for ferry.

It takes approximately 30-35 minutes to Pangkor Island from the jetty. We finally reached Pangkor Island after an half an hour ride in the ferry. It's comfortable enough. You can even get the outside view while you're on the ferry! But remember, if you have seasick be aware if you're gonna step out the ferry to catch a glimpse of the sea! You won't get seasick if you stay in the ferry! :D

The view outside the ferry while heading to Pangkor Island from Lumut Jetty.

Pangkor Jetty.

You can even rent a car or a motorbike once you reach Pangkor Jetty. There're people standing outside the jetty asking if you want to rent a car or a motorbike for a day to travel here and there in Pangkor Island itself. There's another alternative if you never intend to rent a transport for the day! There're cabs available there as well and it only cost you RM15 for a trip! It's a mini van that can fit at least 10 people in the cab!

The pink mini-van cabs!

Well, we rented a car and two motorbikes for the day. We rented the car for RM70 for few hours and for the bikes, we rented it at the price of RM30 for few hours as well. After renting the car, we drove to Pangkor Town for our lunch where its famous for its Chicken Rice! There're a lot of artist who went there before for their chicken rice! Even the famous food critic from Hong Kong, Chua Lam (蔡澜) visited this shop! So, imagine how yummylicious is this chicken rice. Yummmmmmyyyy!

Look for Restaurant Chiang Seng for this best chicken rice in town!

Are you feeling hungry now after looking at this yummylicious plate of chicken rice?

After fulfilling our empty stomach with such scrumptious food, we move on to our next destination, Eng Seng Pangkor Foods Industry & Trading which is located in Sungai Pinang Kecil. We have learned that the factory has already operating for over 30 years and has been passed over generations. They sell marine products or what we called as sea products and even processes certain sea products such as anchovies, prawns, fishes and much more.

After visiting the factory and purchasing those mouth-watering sea products, we decided to visit Foo Ling Kong Temple. According to the locals, this temple is a 'must have seen place' for tourists and visitors. We wondered what is so special about this temple, therefore we made a visit to this particular temple.

Foo Ling Kong Temple is famous for its exquisite environment of a garden with paintings of Chinese deities and wildlife. Furthermore, it is also famous for its miniature replica of Great Wall of China built around the temple! Can't make a trip to see the real Great Wall of China? Then, make a trip to Foo Ling Kong Temple! We can guarantee you that you'll never regret leaving your footprints there!

Remember! No matter you're a Chinese or not, Buddhist or not, Taoist or not, make a visit to this temple when you're having holiday in Pangkor or even make a special trip down to Pangkor just to visit this beautiful place!

From here, can you actually see the miniature replica of Great Wall of China built around the temple?

Lastly, we took another ferry to visit the other bays and beaches in Pangkor. A few bays and beaches we visited are the Coral Bay, Gintang Bay, Nipah Beach, Coral Beach, White Sand Beach and much more. We get to see various kinds of rocks there!

Rocks at Nipah Beach.

We can see a lot of different type of shellfishes in Nipah Beach among those rocks.

What a nice bay.

Such an unique creation by God.

Looking for some water activities to do while you're in Pangkor? We have the perfect and best choice for you! Interested in sailing, snorkelling and other water sports? If yes, then you're in the right place again! Pangkor SilverBeach is on the rescue! They provide students like us with special prices for all water activities!

We went for sailing and then snorkelling under Pangkor SilverBeach. The sailing time slot available is from 8:30AM - 5:00PM and they charge us RM25 per person for students! We actually get to experience getting near to live corals, sea cucumbers, sea urchin and so many more!

Preparing ourselves for snorkelling!

We get to see a lot of live corals and other sea fishes while snorkelling.

Sea urchin! Looks so scary right?

There are still a lot of water activities you can choose from. We did not try all water sports because the time didn't allow us to. We ran out of time because it's only a day trip to Pangkor. The other water activities Pangkor SilverBeach provides are the popular banana boat and others. Oh yeah, they are located at Sea View or nearby Pasir Bogak Beach.

Laser Battle at it's best! Weeee bam bam bam!

Peeps! Wanna try paintball but afraid of the pain caused by its overwhelming fast pellets? Looking for something similar to paintball? You’re in the right place! Ever heard of laser tagging? No? Don’t worry! We are here to take you on a tour on what’s the latest game which is similar to paintball!

Laser tag is now in Malaysia and to be more specific, it’s now available in Ipoh, Perak! It’s located at Glamour Square, Bercham, Ipoh Perak. Never heard of Glamour Square? It’s okay! We’ll provide you the map and pictures to this awesome place, less people even know about the existence of this place!

Laser Battle @Glamour Square, Bercham Ipoh!

Map to Laser Battle@Glamour Square, Bercham

What is laser tag? It sounds scary eh? Remember we used to get reminded by our parents not to play with laser because it can make us blind. Don’t worry the laser used is user-friendly and it’s harmless. Laser tag is suitable for all ages but the age recommended is at least 6 years old and above due to the heavy packs young children have to carry and of course there's no gender restriction at all! It's suitable for both genders. Laser tag is a high-tech sport where players wear computerized vests or packs and handheld “phasers” attempt to achieve the highest or winning score by zapping opponents players, base stations and other targets within a playing arena or maze based on different game modes.

Jacqueline fully-equipped with the computerized vest and phaser.

Let’s go through the kind of equipments and system they used in this game. They used the NEXUS PRO GEN II System which is the world most advance laser tag gaming system. The computerized vest and the phasor weights only 2.4kg and it has 2 speakers on the shoulders, another 2 on the guns playing full MP3 sound effects which enhances the game. This system is also fitted with 6 vibrators on all hit zones to make sure that you “feel” it when you are hit! BAMMM!

The computerized vest and phaser!

For first time players, there will be a 5 minute briefing given by Laser Battle staff where they will explain the operation of the packs and arena devices as well as outlining the safety rules inside the battle arena. Each mission consists of 10 - 15 minutes of actual arena time but sometimes it depends on the management where you can get to play longer if there's no other customers!

The briefing room where all the vest and phaser located.

LED hangers for the vests.

Phasers! Notice there're different names on different phasers in order to recognize your phasers on the scoreboard! ^^

Laser tag required at least 2 players and can accommodate up to maximum 18 players! You can organize a match between you and your friends and family! How awesome is that huh? :D It helps to bond relationship between your friends and family! There are over 40 game modes available in Laser Battle for you to choose!

Our group chooses the the most popular and played game modes which is the Standard Solo, Standard Team and Human Flag. Other than that, Laser Battle also offers modes such as Capture The Flag, KA-Boom!, Midnight Madness, Team Midnight madness and many more!

To compare the prices between paintball and laser tag, it's very obvious that paintball is much more expensive compared to laser tag while laser tag is more AFFORDABLE for students like us! We found out that paintball costs us around RM80 or more for 200 pellets or more or less depends.

Laser Battle is DIFFERENT! They offer the MOST AFFORDABLE price for members and non members and it's worth the price! TRUST ME! Furthermore, they even provide a private party room for people who is interested in doing events or parties in Laser Battle itself where they can get 3 games per person for only RM50 including foods!

Price & rates offered by Laser Battle!

Oh! One more thing! This is a good news for all birthday babies because Laser Battle offers free games when you show your ID card to prove that the particular day is your birthday! So birthday peeps, remember to leave your footprints there on your birthday with your beloved family or friends to leave a memorable mark in celebrating your big and special day!

If you apply to be a member in Laser Battle, you'll be given an accumulator card where if you played 5 games, you'll get a free game. Accumulator card is for you to accumulate the game you'd played in order to get free games! Other than that, you'll be getting an i-Button where it saves all your data, scores for each game modes and even enable you to have your own customize name on the phaser! Cool right?

The accumulator card & i-Button!

Their membership is divided to 2 different packs which are the Power Pack and Mega Pack.
